I have relocated to two cities in tge last 10 years due to work and I can say I prefer The Gold Coast from Sydney. The city of Gold Coast is much more relaxed and the pace of life is not hectic. So, if you are planning to move to the Gold Coast i am happy for you. I have also shared an article ‘Finding new mates to hangout with when moving to the Gold Coast’ to help you make the transition. The article illustrates the places to visit to make new friends if you are new to the city and don’t know anyone.

Coronavirus: Australia to screen passengers on flights from China for potentially fatal illness1/20/2020 Australia will begin screening passengers on high-risk flights from China for signs of a new Sars-like coronavirus following confirmation from the Chinese health authorities that the virus has begun spreading from human to human.
The outbreak was first reported in Wuhan City in China on New Year’s Eve and tied to a seafood market, but officials have since confirmed that it has spread to other humans who had not frequented the market, as well as to health workers. Light to moderate falls over the past week have helped firefighters, however the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) said more than 60 blazes were still burning. A third of those fires remain uncontained, and the showers have also hindered backburning efforts. At least 1,000 firefighters are working on containment lines in preparation for hotter weather later this week. "In some places it does unfortunately hold us back from doing this very important containment work," RFS spokesperson Angela Burford said. "But in some places where we have had heavier rainfall, it's been very beneficial, and we've been able to finally put some fires out." Most of the wet weather has been north of Sydney, with the far north coast topping the state's rainfall, with an average of 200 — 300 millimetres falling. But further south, about 15 to 25 millimetres has been recorded around the Illawarra and Shoalhaven region, while parts of the far South Coast and Southern Ranges have only seen up to 5mm. David Plank estimates growth in gross domestic product over the 2020s will be between 2% and 2.5% a year, well short of the 3% a year Treasury predicted the economy would hit within the next two years in an update issued in December. Plank said the prospect of lower growth for longer meant the government should consider stimulus options including infrastructure spending and tax cuts for business. The first is that regional Australians will wear the bulk of the destruction and suffering linked to our changing climate. The second, and perhaps more painful truth to realise as the impact of climate change worsens, is that metropolitan Australia's perpetual neglect of our regions is eroding the security we once enjoyed as a resilient and prosperous nation. Over the past year in my role living and travelling in regional Australia I have witnessed first-hand the suffering of individuals and communities grappling with unprecedented bushfires, catastrophic flooding, broken temperature records, compounding drought and the ongoing collapse of our continent's largest river system.
